The safety of our players,and volunteers is of the highest importance to the Good Samaritan Soccer Classic.In the event that lightning is sighted or the the threat of severe weather is in the area,the following procedures will be used.
1. If ligthning is sighted or severe weather is approaching the area. The Referee Director are to be notified at the referee tent.
The referee will be responsible for communicating to the referees to clear the fields.
2. Once the lightning strike is observed, the Referee Director will start the clock for the required 30 minute wait period.
3.During the 30 minute wait period. The tournament Director and Referee director will consult to asses the impact of the delay to determine the change necessary to resume play.
a. Shorten games
b.Terminate any game in progress. Games terminated after one half of play due to weather will be considered.
c.Cancel any or all games if necessary. The Good Samaritan soccer classic tournament committee (NHSSPA) is not responsible for expenses incurred by cancellation of games.
d.Once the required wait period is over,the referee director will give the "all clear" signal to the referees and any games changes.
4.Warning system lightning detection equipment is located at the soccer fields.
Cancellation of Entire weekend games due to weather:
In the event that an entire day or weekend of the Good Samaritan soccer Classic is cancelled due to weather. The Tournament Director will determine the feasible amount of a credit,If any,that will be given to each of the teams that apply to next years tournament fees for their teams.In any event no direct refund payments will be made to any teams.
